Baby Steps Baby Steps is dance program for parents and babies. Get fit, have fun and bond with your baby. Ages 6 months—2 years
Toddler Dance—Parent and Tot Toddler dance is a great introduction for young children to dance and free movement in an enjoyable and nurturing environment. Ages 18 months–2.5 years
Musical Fingers & Toes A music and movement class for preschool aged children. A fun introduction for your child to the whole of music and movement. (This program is a part of the Artscovery Program) Ages 2—4 years
Creative Movement Creative dance is a great introduction for young children to dance and free movement in an enjoyable and nurturing environment. It is through movement that children express their feelings. Through rhythm, music and movement students are encouraged to use their imagination and creativity which helps build self-confidence. Ages 3–6
Pre-Ballet This course will help young students in developing an awareness of their own body and how to control these movements. This course will also introduce the basic elements and movement vocabulary of classical ballet while engaging in playful activities. Ages 5—7
Ballet Recreational Ballet classes are for students who wish to continue their ballet training once per week and prefer a slightly less serious approach to ballet.
Ballet Intensive program is designed for students who wish a more intensive dance program which focuses on the discipline of professional dance training. The program concentrates on precise positioning of the body, movement dynamics, physical prowess and artistic expression. Ballet—Ages 7+ Ballet Technique—Ages based on level of training
Pointe Pointe work is an important addition to ballet dance training. Dreams In Motion offers Pointe classes to students who are at least 12 years of age. Students are individually assessed for strength and control before they are accepted into the Pointe class. For new students an assessment class may be necessary before acceptance into the Pointe class. Age based on level of training (at least 12 years)
Modern/Contemporary Modern and contemporary dance is an innovative dance language drawing from many other forms of dance and is used to explore a full range of body movement and expressiveness. Modern—Ages 6-12 Contemporary—Ages 12+
Jazz Jazz classes help develop the ability to interpret contemporary rhythms and dance forms while stressing posture, alignment, placement and coordination. A board term of American social and stage dance employ jazz or jazz influenced music emphasizing fast footwork and isolations. Ages—6+
Tap Tap is an energetic class providing a fun way to develop the students sense of rhythm and musicality. Ages—6+
Contemporary Hip Hop Contemporary Hip Hop is a fluid and more interpretive version of the hip hop. **Dreams In Motion does not encourage or teach or use music and moves that are inappropriate for any age group. Ages—7+
Acrobatics Acrobatics is a combines tumbling skills with dance to create a gymnastics floor routine. Students will learn a variety of basic tumbling skills such as bridge and cartwheel then move to mare advanced skills such as handsprings and aerials. Students will learn how to link tumbling movements together by various dance movements. Ages—6+ Parent and Child available for younger students
Cheerleading Cheerleading is a combination of dance moves, acrobatics and stunts. Students will learn the basic cheer motions, cheer jump techniques, basic tumbling and beginner stunts. Ages—8+
Highland Dance Highland dance is one of the oldest forms of Celtic dance. Students gain flexibility, strength, and stamina, along with the grace of a ballet dancer and the power of an athlete. Ages—7+
Performance Team Dreams In Motion’s dance performance team, is composed of students that will excel in numerous styles of dance. Our members are selected based on performance ability, technical skill, leadership, and desire to continue to grow and perfect their craft. These students will serve as role models for the entire dance program, demonstrating professionalism both in and outside of the studio. This group of dancers will work with esteemed teachers at Dreams In Motion as well as guest teachers and choreographers. Works will be showcased throughout Gananoque and area at events and at select competitions. Mini’s—Ages 5—7 years Junior—Ages 8—12 years Senior—Ages 13+ years
Combination Classes Students interested in more than one style of dance can take our combination classes. Jazz/Acro Ballet/Tap Ballet/Jazz Ages—6+
Ballroom For Youth or Adults Ballroom dance offers you a chance to learn a variety of social dances including the Waltz, Foxtrot, Tango, Jive and Quickstep to a range of different music. Students are taught basic patterns, lead/follow techniques and social dance etiquette. You will learn to feel confident and elegant on the dance floor when attending social dance functions. Belly Dance Belly Dance is an ancient art form practiced in the Middle East and across Northern Africa. The dancer becomes a physical expression of the music; the dance emphasizes graceful, exotic movements, coupled with muscular control. The dance is also an excellent whole-body exercise for people of any age at any level of fitness.
Line Dancing Line dancing is a lot of fun and a good way to keep fit! Learn the basic steps and how to put them all together for some of the most popular dances. All levels of skill are welcome!

Core Stability Training Through the use of stability training equipment you will work the core muscles which are import to give your body a good foundation.
Target Zone Strengthening This 1/2 hour class targets individual muscles. Each week a different group of muscle will be the focus.
